Born on June 28, 1955. Studied mechanical engineering at Vienna University of Technology from 1974 to 1981, graduating with a Dipl.-Ing. (TU) degree. Worked as a university assistant at Vienna University of Technology’s Institute for Internal Combustion Engines and Automotive Engineering between 1981 and 1986, conducting research work in the fields of carburetion and exhaust emissions from internal combustion engines. Obtained the title of Doctor of Technical Sciences (Dr. techn.) in 1985.
Joined the MAN Group in 1986 at ÖAF Gräf und Stift AG in Vienna (now MAN Sonderfahrzeuge AG), holding various positions until 1995. Technical director at MAN A.S. in Ankara (now MAN Türkiye) from 1996 to 1999, becoming a member of the Executive Board with responsibility for development, quality assurance and logistics in 1998. Head of Engine Development at MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG’s Nuremberg site from 1999 to 2001. Member of the MAN Nutzfahrzeuge Group’s Executive Board from July 2001 with responsibility for its technical and purchasing activities.
On July 1, 2006, Pachta-Reyhofen was appointed to MAN SE’s Executive Board and assumed the position of Chairman on MAN Diesel SE’s Executive Board until December 31, 2009.
He has been the CEO of MAN SE and MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG since
January 1, 2010.
